最近、私は動物の木炭画の世界に飛び込んでみました。紙の上で白と黒のたった2色だけで生命を表現するというチャレンジに魅了されています。私は最初のキャリアを手書きのアニメーターから始めましたが、その後しばらくデザインやアートから遠ざかっていました。一年ほど前にこの分野に戻ろうと決意し、木炭画は初めての試みですが、今後アーティストとして学び、成長していきたいと思っています。私は小さな頃、芸術的な家庭環境で育ちました。私の父ははかつて、上海美術映画製作所でアニメーションアーティストをしており、その多くの伝統的な中国アニメ「水墨画、剪紙、木偶、セル画」が上海中国美術館で今でも保存展示されています。父は1999年に亡くなる前に、30～40冊の絵本も出版しました。父との深い思い出は私にとって常に影響を与えてきました。現在の私のアートは、動物の多様性をシンプルに表現することに力を入れています。描く際はできるだけ単純化し、それぞれの動物の本質を捉え、特徴や個性に焦点を当てています。

Animal Charcoal Artist

I'm Mia Dan, an emerging artist with a passion for capturing the beauty and spirit of animals through charcoal art.

I've recently embarked on a journey into the world of animal charcoal art, fascinated by the challenge of bringing only two colors to life on paper. While I am new to this medium, I grew up in an artistic family. My first job was as a hand-drawing animator. Although I have spent most of my life avoiding art, eventually a life event brought me back to it a year ago. I am eager to learn and grow as an artist. My father was an animation artist at the Shanghai Animation Film Studio, where most of their traditional Chinese animations are kept and exhibited in the Shanghai China Museum. Before he passed away in 1999, he also published between 30 to 40 illustration books. My deep memories with my father have always had influence on me. I am starting into charcoal drawings. My art is driven by using simplicity to describe the incredible diversity of animal life. I aim to be as minimalist as I can be when I draw, striving to capture the essence of each animal, focusing on their unique features and personalities.
